Arc Welding Training To Youth (IDPs) in Kumba

The project aimed to support internally displaced persons (IDPs) and marginalized host communities affected by the Anglophone crisis and armed conflict in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon. Specifically, it targeted 20 marginalized IDP youth in Mbongo, located in the Bamusso Sub Division. The initiative was designed to enhance employment opportunities for these IDP youth and their host communities by providing technical skills training. By focusing on job referrals, the project sought to connect participants with employment opportunities in key sectors like construction, which is a significant economic driver in the region. Ultimately, the project aimed to strengthen livelihoods and promote economic stability among those impacted by the ongoing conflict, fostering resilience and self-sufficiency within the IDP population and their host communities. Through this targeted skills training, the initiative hoped to empower participants, providing them the necessary tools to secure sustainable wage employment and alleviate some of the hardships faced due to displacement and marginalization.
